8. Leonard Garcia vs. Nam Pham TUF 12 Finale
In Garcia’s defence, he never said he agreed with the decision here.
When Garcia was named the split-decision victor over Nam Pham, nobody, including Garcia could believe it. In the post-fight interview Garcia even hinted that he didn’t believe he had won the fight and was surprised by the judge’s decision.
Making matters worse in this case, is that this was actually the first televised featherweight bout the company had ever done, so the division wasn’t off to a hot start. Oddly enough, this was Garcia’s 4th split decision in a row, having lost to Mark Hominick his previous fight, and “defeated” the Korean Zombie (see last page) 2 fighters prior. As mentioned previously Garcia fell apart afterwards, dropping his rematch with the Korean Zombie, then his rematch with Nam Pham, then 3 more fights before finally being cut by the UFC.
