No.2: Demetrious Johnson vs. Kyoji Horiguchi – 4.59mins of Round 5
Remarkably this is the ‘Mighty Mouse’ Demetrious Johnson’s third appearance on this list, and it also happens to be a record-breaker.
At the time, his opponent Kyoji Horiguchi only had one loss on his 16 fight record, but it soon became clear that he was struggling to match Johnson’s pace, grappling and endless energy reserves as he began to fall behind on the scorecards.
Still, the Japanese star managed to hang tough and looked as if he was going to at least make it to the final bell as the fight approached it’s final few seconds.
However, Johnson still seemed as fresh as he had been in the first minute of the fight and was seeking a way to put an exclamation point on his latest title defense.
He found it at the last possible moment as he suddenly seized upon an armbar opportunity and forced Horiguchi to tap with only one second of the fight remaining – making it the latest submission in UFC history.
