Edith Labelle Fired Before UFC 100
Edith Labelle was one of the promotion’s Octagon girls prior to UFC 100, but she was conspicious by her absence on the night of the historic event in July of 2009.
Rumors soon started to emerge that Labelle had attended a number of pre-fight parties on the night before the event in Las Vegas, which wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for an Octagon girl helping to promote the event during International Fight Week in the city.
However, the word was that Labelle had over-indulged on alcohol to the extent that she had to leave the festivities early and was ill with a hangover for much of the next day, leading to UFC officials telling her not to attend the event.
For her part Labelle claimed that she hadn’t partied too hard and instead had just simply felt unwell during the parties and decided to call it a night early, only to still feel sick the next day.
Whether true or not, the incident led to Labell’s UFC contract being terminated.
