7. Cheick Kongo vs. Shawn Jordan

Only a year removed for being involved in one of the craziest fights of the decade against Pat Barry, Kongo clocked in an exceptionally tedious heavyweight bout against Shawn Jordan at UFC 149. Both men’s fight records were littered with big finishes. But any thoughts of delivering another appeared to have been cast aside in favor of hugging it out against the cage for 15 minutes.

Kongo would eventually win the snorefest by unanimous decision. He then blamed shoulder injuries for his performance, while Jordan later admitted he’d ‘froze up’ during the fight. This was clearly evident by the fact he failed to land more than 8 strikes in each round.

“This is not the Ultimate Clinching Championships!” Dana White ranted in frustration afterwards as UFC 149 went down as one of the worst events in UFC history, with all five main card bouts going to dull decision verdicts.
