Leaving Ali Sonoma
In the early days of his UFC career Sanchez appeared to be living the good life as not only did he compile a six-fight winning streak in the Octagon, but during that time he also began dating Octagon girl Ali Sonoma.
In fact the two would stay together for almost two years and were reportedly engaged, but then Sanchez abruptly dropped an unexpected bombshell in 2008 by ending their relationship, explaining that being with her was distracting too much from his fighting career.
“Diego recently decided he can’t have both: he can’t have the relationship and be the champion,” Sonoma revealed.
