Renan Barao vs. Urijah Faber 2
Urijah Faber earned a second chance to fight Renan Barao for the title after losing out by unanimous decision two years earlier, but this time the fight would be far shorter.
The early stages of the fight couldn’t have gone worse for Faber as he was floored by a right hand and then put back down as he tried to stand.
Barao started landing hammerfists, but Faber was still defending himself and even gave the referee a thumbs up, but Herb Dean didn’t see it and ended the fight prematurely.
“It’s very frustrating,” Faber said afterwards. “I’m one of the most durable guys in the world. You get caught with punches. He told me to do something, so I gave him a thumbs up right before he stopped it. Herb is a great referee. I just wish I would have had more of a chance.”
