“The Super Samoan” has braved through countless big shots from the behemoths at heavyweight. It’s one thing to take a punch right on the noggin, it’s another thing to take a big punch from a heavyweight — no matter who you are. Yet Hunt has always absorbed punishment and taken hits like a true champ.
In his 12 year professional MMA career, Hunt has only suffered four knockout losses, two of which happened past his athletic prime. Hunt’s ability to shake off the cobwebs has led him to 12 solid victories, nine of which have come by knockouts of his own.
Although he recently scored two impressive victories over Frank Mir and Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, sadly, Hunt is expected to soon retire from the fight game and deservedly so. He’s competed in so many memorable fights that you would have to genuinely worry about his physical well-being moving forward.
