Threatening Joe Rogan
When Covington started trash talking about Jon Jones, UFC color commentator Joe Rogan stated on his JRE podcast that while he understood he was just trying to promote himself, that ‘Chaos’ may be biting off more than he could chew.
“You’re going to get slapped in the face by a guy who can kill you with his hands,” Rogan warned. “That’s a bad move.”
Covington didn’t take kindly to that advice and threatened to confront him face-to-face.
“He might be commentating that Chicago card, so that’s kind of hypocritical of him to say something like that because when he’s talking about me, we might be face to face. I might just have to slap him,” Covington responded on BJPenn radio.
However, Rogan’s response was to just laugh off the fighter’s remarks.
I know you said you’re going to slap me, don’t slap me. I’m just talking s**t,” Rogan said on his podcast.
“I like Colby. I like what he’s doing. He’s talking a lot of s**t. I’m just saying, be careful who you talk s**t to.”
Covington wasn’t satisfied though, claiming Rogan was biased and doubled down on his threat to track him down at UFC 225.
However, a few days later he finally relented, saying he’d “give Rogan a pass” at the request of their mutual friend Cameron Hanes.
