2. Matt Hamill

Many people expected Matt Hamill to be a UFC champion someday. They still expected Hamill to be a champion after he lost a controversial decision to Michael Bisping (in England) at UFC 75.

It wasn’t until 2009 that people started to realize that Matt Hamill might not be a future champion in the light heavyweight division. That was the year that Hamill “defeated” Jon Jones via DQ (12-6 elbows) at the Ultimate Fighter season 10 finale. Everyone knows Hamill got destroyed that fight, the DQ had nothing to do with Jones’ dominance.

But Hamill bounced back with gritty wins over Keith Jardine and Tito Ortiz. Only then he lost to Rampage Jackson, then Gustafson, then Thiago Silva and then he was gone. He recently came out of retirement but has yet to win a fight. First he was submitted by Vinny Magalhaes in the 1st round at a WSOF event, and then Sokoudjou KO’ed him in under 40 seconds for Venator.
