5. Gilbert Aldana
After going 0-2 in the UFC in 2006 Gilbert Aldana was released from the promotion. That January however, Aldana won his 1st fight since leaving the UFC in just 26 seconds via kimura.
Just months later however Aldana drowned after an incident while boating with friends. Aldana’s shirt had fallen into the water and he jumped in to retrieve it. The conditions were windy, the water was cold and Aldana was unable to stay afloat. His friends tried but ultimately were unable to save him. His body wouldn’t be retrieved for months.
Aldana was 30 years old.
