Numerous MMA fighters have gone to Hollywood after their fight career has ended. Oleg Taktarov was actually the first to go down this route, as he started making action movies in the late 90s.
Evidently Taktarov walked by a mirror one day and realized he was the spitting image of every evil Russian KGB agent that has ever appeared in an action movie. He then realized he could make some money off of it.
Other fighters like Randy Couture and Keith Jardine have transitioned to the film industry. Gina Carano found that making B-movies was way easier than getting beaten up by fighters like Cyborg, and Ronda Rousey might decide the very same thing shortly.
On the other hand there are plenty of actors who would love to transition to martial arts. Many big name actors have trained with some of the best instructors in the world, and might have done ok for themselves in a martial arts career had they decided to go down that path.
Here are Five movie stars who could fight MMA…
5. Wesley Snipes
In 2005 rumours started to circulate that action film star Wesley Snipes wanted to showcase that he is a legit martial artist. He wanted a fight in the UFC and his rumoured opponent was none other than UFC commentator Joe Rogan. The fight never came to fruition unfortunately, but that is not to say Snipes isn’t a legit martial artist.
Snipes has been training in martial arts since he was 12 years old. His main discipline seems to be Shotokan karate, in which he holds a 5th degree black belt. He has also been seen training in jiu-jitsu and kickboxing, as well as in kung fu at the USA Shaolin Temple.
