4. Nunes Has Been Training for Ronda for Years
Nunes told the Brazilian media recently that she has been training for Ronda Rousey since 2013. That was the year she made her debut in the octagon. That shouldn’t come as much of a surprise however, as for up and coming women fighters Ronda is the big money fight.
Ronda Rousey is an MMA legend and pioneer, so a fight with her means a nice pay check. She is the Conor McGregor of women’s MMA in that regards. As such, many fighters have been mentally preparing themselves to face Ronda their whole careers.
Greg Jackson revealed after his fighter, Holly Holm, defeated Ronda that they had been preparing Holm for Ronda from the very start.
Nunes has had years to visualize how to fight against Ronda, and that should give her some added advantage.
