Rafael Dos Anjos Sends Chilling Response to Conor McGregor

0

Before Conor McGregor ever faced Nate Diaz at UFC 196, he was first scheduled to face former UFC lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos for the latter’s belt.

Dos Anjos broke his foot and Diaz stepped in on short notice for a fight at welterweight. McGregor however recently stated that had his fight against Dos Anjos pushed through, he could very well be a two-division champion now.

“If I fought Rafael Dos Anjos, if he didn’t p**sy out of that last one and showed up, the shots I cracked Nate with in the first eight minutes would’ve KO’d Rafael Dos Anjos stiff,” said McGregor in a recent media conference call. “That’s no question. I would be sitting here right now as a two-weight world champion.”

McGregor could very well be right, we’ll never know. Since then Dos Anjos lost his UFC lightweight title to now reigning champ Eddie Alvarez and he’s currently in McGregor’s rear view mirror. But the former champ didn’t take kindly to McGregor’s boastful jabbering.

Dos Anjos took to Twitter to send a bone-chilling response to McGregor.

Quote: Nobody Cares About Ronda Rousey’s Fat Arms Anymore

UFC 184: Rousey v Zingano

Shots have been fired from Julianna Pena towards Ronda Rousey.

While speaking with the media recently Pena referred to the ex-champion Rousey as “broken”, and even made reference to her having “fat arms”. Pena really came out of her shell in the interview for the first time, as speaking about Rousey in less than flattering terms seems to be something that motivates the 26-year old “Venezuelan Vixen”.

The #4 ranked UFC women’s bantamweight Pena has been lobbying hard to get the next title shot at current champion Amanda Nunes, though as of yet no announcement regarding future title fights in the division have been made.

Pena is clever however, and knows that building up a future fight with Ronda could earn her a lot of money in the future, possibly more than a title opportunity would.  If Rousey really is “broken” then only 1 or 2 more fighters will have a chance to make some additional PPV butyrate money by facing one of the biggest UFC PPV draws of all time.

The division that both Pena and Rousey fight in is a mess right now. After Rousey dominated the division since its inception everything got thrown for a loop when the #9 ranked fighter beat the champion so badly she began speaking of suicide and having Travis Browne’s babies in the same sentence.

We’ve now had 3 different UFC women’s bantamweight champions since Rousey lost the belt. The division now has 3 ex-champions and 2 other fighters who have legitimate claims to a title shot. The next year in this division is going to be pretty interesting to see how the 6 top fighters fair against each other in the “banty” division.

SHREDDED Nate Diaz Pic Has Conor McGregor Fans Worried Sick

The eagerly anticipated rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz is closer than ever. UFC 202 will lay host to the second chapter of their rivalry. The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada will be packed to the limit on fight night.

What makes their feud so special? Just think back to UFC 196, when Rafael dos Anjos dropped out injured. Fans were concerned the event would fall to pieces, but in stepped Diaz to shatter the promotion’s plans.

How it went down

A rather flabby looking Nate Diaz had just 11 days to prepare for the fight with Conor McGregor. He confessed to drinking Tequila in Cabo just one week out from the fight, making the result so much more shocking.

One huge advantage Diaz possessed on March 5 was his grappling. Perhaps people are underestimating the gap in size too. The fight went down at welterweight, as will the rematch at UFC 202.

Size matters?

Does size matter in a fight? Well sure, if he fighter with the advantage knows how to use it. Quite often though a smaller fighter is quicker. All that aside, Nate Diaz is not only taller, but he looks in WAY better shape for the rematch.

This latest image of Diaz has McGregor fans in a state of panic…

Georges St-Pierre’s UFC Comeback Has Fans Going Crazy

0

Former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has been away for a long time. The last time St-Pierre fought was at UFC 167 in 2013. The victory ‘GSP’ earned that night over Johny Hendricks was highly debatable.

Previously known for his dominant performances in the octagon, ‘Rush’ was starting to look a shell of his former self. His vacation of the welterweight title still came as a shock though. It was drug abuse and personal issues that had apparently forced St-Pierre to leave the UFC.

Riff from the UFC

UFC president Dana White was so furious with GSP that he reportedly had the belt taken from him in the locker room. Nothing was even official yet and the promotion was aking their four pounds of gold back.

St-Pierre would remain on the sidelines while the belt changed hands three times. Johny Hendricks first won the vacated title at UFC 171, before losing it to Robbie Lawler in their rematch.

Title changes

Lawler defended the strap against Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit before facing Tyron Woodley at UFC 201. This is where things got very interesting indeed. Woodley knocked out ‘Ruthless’ in the first round.

Then came St-Pierre’s hue announcement…

Top Five Hardest Chins in UFC History

There’s something to be said about knockouts. The allure of a spectacular stoppage victory inside the Octagon is what draws fans to Mixed Martial Arts.

It’s not about the science of fighting, not about who’s better at scoring points with the judges. MMA has always been about the thrill of the unpredictable — that at any given moment, a fight can end at the blink of an eye.

Honorable mention: Prime Dan Henderson…

Yet, there are fighters who are hit with everything but the kitchen sink — fighters who just have this natural propensity to absorb punishment. Even if you tag them with a shot that would put other, lesser fighters to sleep, these guys shake it off like it was nothing.

Here are the Top Five Hardest Chins in UFC History…

Could Conor McGregor Beat Brock Lesnar?

0

Someone brought up an interesting topic recently. That weight advantages don’t matter in MMA and that we should just forego weight divisions altogether like the olden days.

Conor McGregor once said prior to his first foray into the UFC’s welterweight division against Nate Diaz at UFC 196, that in true fighting there is no such thing as weight classes.

It’s the reason he chose to fight Diaz at 170 pounds in the first place, a full two weight divisions north of where he just won the UFC featherweight title in the previous bout.

Taking McGregor’s own words into consideration, would it then be possible for a bout to take place between he and former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar? Could he actually win?

Brock Lesnar’s super ripped physique proved to be dirty too…

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. This is, first and foremost a fantasy post. The probability of this fight actually happening is below zero.

Firstly, McGregor is a natural lightweight. Assuming this fight will take place the old-fashioned way with no weight limitations or restrictions, McGregor would be giving up nearly a hundred pounds. Furthermore, Lesnar probably fought his last fight in the UFC against Mark Hunt.

For those who don’t know, Lesnar got busted for USADA banned substances following his latest appearance in the Octagon. He has since denied taking the substances, saying he will ‘get to the bottom’ of it all but everyone knows what the deal is.

Conor McGregor Responds To Nate Diaz’s Steroid Statement

0

Recently on a media call for UFC 202, Conor was asked about drug testing and echoed statements made by Nate Diaz at a UFC 196 media event; those statements being that the entire UFC is on steroids.

ConorMcGregor

“The boy is not far along, I mean they f**king all are on steroids.  So it is f**ked up.” Conor said on the conference call.

“The co-main and the main at 200. That’s messed up to me to be honest.” he said in reference to Jon Jones and Brock Lesnar both failing drug tests stemming from UFC 200.  He would also again refer to Nate’s teammates, Jake Shields and Gilbert Melendez, who have both tested positive in the past.

Conor also used the conference call as a chance to bash Rafael Dos Anjos for pulling out of their lightweight title fight last minute.  According to Conor, he should be a 2-weight champion in the UFC right now, and blamed RDJ for “p**sing out” of their fight.

Both Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor were on the call, and both had plenty to say.

Five Super Foods UFC Champions Eat In Camp

0

You can’t out-train a bad diet, so no matter how hard you hit the gym if you aren’t conscious of what you are putting in your body, you will not reach your full potential as a fighter.

Even if you don’t train or have any interest in being a fighter, you can still benefit greatly from eating like top-level fighters eat.

Many athletes and fighters have their own theories around diet and nutrition, but often you will hear a few basic principles that are mentioned more than others.

For fighters those include sticking to lean meats (nobody ever lost a fight because they didn’t eat enough greasy bacon), eat smaller meals more frequently (to stay lean) and eat lots of organic vegetables.

Here are 5 Super-Foods that fighters eat in camp…

WATCH: Conor McGregor Batters Nate Diaz Look-alike

It’s not long now until the UFC gets the Conor McGregor show on the road again. We are deep in to the hype stages for UFC 202 on August 20, and we’ve seen McGregor changing his training.

‘The Notorious’ was somewhat embarrassed by Nate Diaz at UFC 196. After a heated rivalry that lasted only 11 days, the Irishman was not able to back up his smack talk. It was the bad boy from Stockton, California who would have the last laugh on March 5.

The first dance

McGregor was a heavy betting favourite to win at UFC 196. Diaz coming in on just 11 days notice played a huge role in our predictions, but time was clearly not the biggest factor. Was McGregor over-confident? Perhaps.

Arguably the biggest variable in their first meeting was McGregor’s lack of experience in both grappling and the deep waters. When finally caught clean as he grew tired, ‘The Notorious’ found himself in a lot of trouble.

Changes in training

Bringing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu star Dillon Danis to help with his grappling may prove a big key to defeating Diaz this time around. What of McGregor’s boxing though? It’s all good working on his BJJ, but his striking seemed a little off at UFC 196.

We recently learned that the Irish superstar has been bringing in tall middleweight boxers to replicate Nate Diaz, and now a video has emerged…

MMA Fighter Arrested For Child Molestation

0

Not too long ago 22-year old MMA bantamweight Stephen Cervantes was 6W-0L and on his way to a likely successful MMA career. Now he has been arrested and facing charges of rape and child molestation.

In fact this is the second time in as many years that similar charges have been pressed against Cervantes, who has been affiliated with Team Jackson-Winklejohn in the past and also with Luttrell’s MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

It makes one wonder if the city of Albuquerque is getting a little sick of having so many MMA fighters in their community. This was the city where Jon Jones caused a multi-car collision and then fled the scene, and also where Diego Brandao was charged for bringing a gun into a strip club and assaulting someone. Now a pro MMA fighter has been committing sexual assault against minors in the area as well.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Cervantes had recently just lost his first MMA fight, his record dropping to 6W-1L. The loss came way of a first round submission (neck crank) to a real submission ace out of Guam, Kyle “Boom” Reyes. Somewhere in Guam, Reyes must be feeling extra good about that win today. 8 of Reyes’ 11 pro wins have been via submission.
