Five Pro Wrestlers Who Could Slap Conor McGregor’s Head Off

0

Conor McGregor referred to WWE’s roster as “messed up pu&*ies” on a media conference call recently and a swift wave of controversy was quick to follow. He would follow up his comments with the following tweet:

Conor stopped short of insulting WWE’s top executives such as the McMahon family and Triple H, obviously understanding that they might be in a position to make money together in the future. His comments did earn him the ire of many pro-wrestlers however, and they took to social media to show him their displeasure.

While WWE is entertainment, its cast of performers are required to be very athletic. Because of this the WWE recruits heavily from amateur athletes, and as such many of WWE’s performers have backgrounds in amateur wrestling, football or mixed martial arts.

Some of them are also gigantic freaks of nature.

Here are 5 pro wrestlers who could slap Conor’s head off (and twice on Sundays)…

Leaked Video: CM Punk’s Boxing Looks TERRIBLE

When WWE superstar Brock Lesnar crossed over to the sport of mixed martial arts, it brought a lot of attention. The legions of followers from the pro wrestling world were suddenly interested in MMA.

This led to a record-breaking UFC 100 pay-per-view haul. The 1.6 million buys remains the all-time record for a single UFC event. The appearance of Lesnar on the historic 2009 card is widely credited for the huge buy rate.

That said, after failing two drug tests for UFC 200, fans are looking at Lesnar in a different light now. Another pro wrestler attempting the cross over to combat sports is CM Punk, but it’s been a very delayed process.

Punk (real name Phillip Brooks) will try and replicate the success of Lesnar’s first UFC run. There’s a big difference between CM Punk and Brock Lesnar though; only one of them actually had a competitive background before pro wrestling, and it isn’t CM Punk.

Punk’s delayed start in the UFC has led to many jokes and trash talking from fellow fighters. Hi lack of actual combat experience means most fans, even casuals, are giving him slim-to-no chance of winning.

His debut is set for September 10 against Mickey Gall, but this latest video is worrying…

Raw Video: Police Break MMA Fighter’s Neck & Leave Him Paralyzed

0

A number of alarming videos sent to the United States into turmoil recently. Police-involved shootings and harrowing beatings have arguably been going on for years, but only since the age of social media are most of them being seen.

It’s certainly a sad prospect when the men and women who are meant to protect and serve end u battering and bruising. Of course, this is not to say that all police officers are violent thugs.

Police+Officers[1]The shootings of multiple youths, particularly in poorer areas of the US, have sparked outrage in the last few years. Riots date back to the 1960s when ‘race wars’ dominated American cities.

Rodney King is a classic example of hate crimes by the police. Again this isn’t an attack on all police officers and law enforcement, just a statement of the facts. The subject of today’s article is being highly debated.

This is Donovan Duran. He was an MMA fighter until he got into trouble with the police. He was never charged with any crime, but his altercation with the police on that fateful night has left him paralyzed.

The graphic footage has been placed on the next page, and it’s highly disturbing in nature…

Duran was left completely disabled from the chest down after this brutal interaction with Colorado police. As you’ll see in the video, he was yanked from a vehicle where he was already handcuffed before being slammed on his head.

Duran suffered a broken neck, and no police were charged with any crimes following the incident. Duran is currently suing the police department and remains unable to walk. He says he feels ‘lucky to be alive’ but frustrated at not being able to train MMA anymore.

Jon Jones & Brock Lesnar Ejected From UFC Rankings

Major shakeups happened in the UFC rankings last weekend. The organisation dropped some of its stars from the rankings after running into some trouble with the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) for failed drug tests.

Both former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones and former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar were noticeably missing from the official UFC rankings on the promotion’s website.

Also missing from the list was former middleweight standout Lyoto Machida.

Bad Times

Jones won the interim UFC light heavyweight title with a victory over Ovince St. Preux at UFC 197 in a rough performance coming out of his recent suspension. He did not appear his usual dominant self, lending to the notion that he was rusty and that time spent away from the cage affected him.

Being dropped from the rankings could also mean Jones may have been stripped of the interim title. This is however unconfirmed since there is no official word from the UFC regarding the matter.

Jones was scheduled to fight UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier in the main event at UFC 200 last July. Days prior to the event however, Jones tested positive for traces of Clomiphene — a USADA banned substance. The findings forced Jones to withdraw from the bout.

Anderson Silva, who was in town for other matters, stepped in to face Cormier on short notice with Cormier ending up victorious.

Getting busted for banned substances may not mean much for Brock Lesnar, who could have fought his last fight in the UFC anyway.

Back to WWE

Lesnar on the other hand was allowed to compete at UFC 200, winning a unanimous decision over Mark Hunt.

The WWE star returned to The Octagon after five years away from the sport. It was revealed days after the fight that he too failed USADA drug tests. He previously held the eighth spot in the UFC’s heavyweight rankings.

Both fighters tested positive for estrogen receptor modulators, which is a common masking agent to hide the effects of steroid use. Jones has since claimed that the failed tests were a result of tainted supplements. Lesnar did not offer any comment.

Nate Diaz’s Coach Reveals Shocking Doping Allegations

New allegations against Georges St. Pierre’s camp regarding his UFC 158 fight against Nick Diaz are surfacing; allegations that could lead to a potential rematch down the line.  The source of the allegations is Nate Diaz’s boxing coach, Richard Perez, who was in Nate’s brother Nick’s camp for the bout.

The fight was more than 2 years in the making, and had actually been originally scheduled for UFC 137, Nick’s first fight after vacating the Strikeforce Welterweight Championship.043_Georges_St-Pierre_and_Nick_Diaz.0The main event for that card was changed however, after Nick Diaz pulled what Conor did for UFC 200, and failed to show up to a media event. Diaz was replaced in the main event that night with Carlos Condit, and Diaz knocked out BJ Penn in the co-main event instead.

The fight between Georges St. Pierre and Nick Diaz went exactly like most of GSP’s fights at that stage of his career; he took him down and controlled the fight, doing little bits of damage here and there en route to earning a decision victory.diaz_gsp-1040x572Nick Diaz claimed to have retired after that fight (few took this seriously) but would later make claims that GSP was both on steroids and missed weight for their fight.

While appearing as a guest on Chael Sonnen’s podcast, Nick claimed that he was never drug tested for UFC 158 and neither was Georges, and that Georges missed weight but the Canadians conspired against him.

But now members of Nick Diaz’s camp are claiming that GSP’s camp drugged Diaz before the fight, causing Nick to be severely dehydrated going into the bout.

WWE Star: Conor McGregor’s UFC Fights Are Fixed

0

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor returns to the octagon on August 20 to try and get revenge. After suffering his first UFC defeat to Nate Diaz at UFC 196, the popular Irishman will attempt to take one back at UFC 202.

His feud with Diaz is well publicized, and before their first fight it was wildly entertaining. Although only 11 days long, many regard Diaz and McGregor’s beef as one of the greatest in UFC history.

The dust never truly settled on their rivalry though. As UFC 202 draws closer, McGregor and Diaz have started heating up the trash talk again. An eventful media call led to ‘The Notorious’ once again making some crazy predictions.

He revealed his game plan would be exactly the same, and even predicted he’d knock Diaz out in the second round. But it’s not only Nate Diaz who’s been taking a verbal lashing from Conor McGregor this week.

Conor McGregor called out the entire WWE roster and slammed them as pussies…

Once again blurring the lines of sports and entertainment, McGregor put the entire WWE roster on blast. He accused pro wrestlers of being ‘pussies,’ also saying he’d ‘smack their heads off’ during a dramatic rant.

MMA Legend Predicts Nasty Beating For Conor McGregor

0

Former UFC welterweight and MMA legend Pat Miletich was on Submission Radio recently to talk all-things MMA, particularly to discuss the UFC’s welterweight division and the recent shakeups (with a new champion being crowned and all, as well as the return of GSP and Nick Diaz) but more importantly to talk about what he thinks of the Conor McGregor-Nate Diaz rematch.

When asked if McGregor could compete against the top welterweights in the UFC today should he beat Diaz, Miletich offered a very sharp response.

“No, he [McGregor] is going to get his ass beat by Nate [Diaz] again,” said Miletich. “And even if he were to get lucky and beat Nate, he fights guys that are cut down. Some of the guys that are fighting at 170 are cut down from 200-215 pounds. You’re talking skull fractures from guys like that.”

Miletich obviously thinks McGregor will not be able to handle such a stark jump in weight class. Although his bout with Diaz is at welterweight, Diaz does not naturally compete at this division. Instead, Diaz is more well-known for his work in the UFC’s lightweight division, so Miletich does have a point.

YouTube video

“The 170-pounders who walk around at 200-plus, could punch a heavyweight on his jaw and knock him out,” Miletich added. “These are explosive, very strong guys who if Conor McGregor even remotely attempts to take them down, he’s going to get shut down. And if he gets hit with a three-punch combo, he’s going to the hospital.”

You couldn’t tell from what Miletich said however, that he was actually a McGregor fan. Miletich went on to acknowledge McGregor’s contribution to the sport of MMA.

“I will say this though. Conor McGregor has sold the sport. He’s sold himself. I think he’s brought some of the Chael Sonnen WWE from Ireland into it, which is great. More power to him, I love the guy actually,” he said, before offering his take on the fight.

“I think Conor is going to come in very motivated, bigger, stronger but he’s not going to be able to hurt Nate.”

McGregor faces Diaz in a highly-anticipated rematch at UFC 202 which takes place August 20 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

MMA can be a beautiful thing. When the science is just right, and these superb athletes are able to pull off something magical, the sport truly shines.

Throughout its rich history, MMA has enjoyed its fair share of awesome moments, but none more cherished than the knockout.

The knockout is the single most captivating aspect of fight sports. There’s just something about a guy getting completely obliterated and incapacitated that speaks to us as primal human beings. The sudden jolt of the impact, the flush contact on the chin — lights out.

Conor McGregor Reveals How He’d Make Rafael dos Anjos Stiff

0

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor can really talk the talk. He’s been part of some seriously high level entertainment over recent years, both in and outside the UFC octagon. It looks like he’s only just getting warmed up though.

A recent rant towards the superstars of the WWE showed that McGregor doesn’t only stick to the confines of combat sports. He issued a challenge to the ‘pussies’ of the WWE, claiming he’d ‘smack the heads off the entire roster.’

UFC 196 McGregor vs. Diaz Press Conference

With all this trash talk aimed at just about anyone who’s mentioned in sports, McGregor might do well to focus on the task in front of him. Nate Diaz submitted McGregor at UFC 196, and they’ll rematch in under two weeks at UFC 202.

The taller and more talented grappler, Diaz managed to use his tools to the full extent in their last fight. On just 11 days notice the Stockton bad boy upset the promotion’s biggest star. Will history repeat itself? That remains to be seen.

hhh2

An interesting point for debate is that McGregor was originally meant to fight Rafael dos Anjos. The Brazilian was the lightweight champion at that time, and a win for ‘The Notorious’ would have made him the first UFC champion to hold two belts at once.

As we know, that fight never happened, but McGregor sill went off about Rafael dos Anjos…

WWE Stars Respond With Furious Tirade Against Conor McGregor

0

Conor McGregor roasted pro wrestling and the WWE recently, calling WWE superstars a bunch of “pussies” in a verbal tirade.

He took some shots at former UFC heavyweight champion and WWE wrestler Brock Lesnar, referring to the nearly 300 pound behemoth as “juiced up to the f-cking eyeballs”, and made some comments about Phil Brooks, a.k.a. CM Punk.

011316-ufc-Conor-McGregor-pi-mp.vresize.1200.675.high.25

WWE fans were obviously riled up, and didn’t take McGregor’s comments lightly. But then McGregor took to Twitter to set the record straight, saying he never meant to irk the fans per se.

“I didn’t mean no disrespect to the @WWE fans,” said McGregor in a Tweet. “What I mean to say was that I’d slap the head off your entire roster. And twice on Sundays.”

Of course it didn’t take long for WWE stars to actually fire back at McGregor, given that their profession and everything they have worked hard for their entire lives was just ridiculed by one of the most popular MMA fighters in the world.
