3. Benson Henderson

After beating Frankie Edgar by unanimous decision, Benson Henderson became UFC champion back in 2012. He’d beat Edgar in a tight split decision rematch, defending his title for the first time. His second title defence came against Nate Diaz, with ‘Smooth’ ground-and-pounding, leg kicking and knocking the Stockton fighter down twice.

Then Henderson would tie BJ Penn’s record for title defences by beating Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez in 2013. That was billed as a champ v champ clash and was massive at the time. Henderson’s defences weren’t as convincing as the two men above him on this list, but he’s still the third greatest 155lb champ of all time.
