Abdul Razak Hassan vs. Sabah Homasi
It’s a shame that the fight between Abdul Razak Hassan and Sabah Homasi was ended by a controversial stoppage as up until that point it had been a highly entertaining back-and-forth battle.
Hassan had backed up Homasi early in the opening round, only to be dropped himself. However, Hassan soon came battling back into the fight and the two engaged in a slug-fest with Homasi backed up against the cage.
A Hassan left hook seemed to just graze Homasi, who dropped quickly to the mat, but at no point did he appear out and instead he was working for a takedown when Herb Dean ended the fight by TKO.
On steady legs, Hassan got up and protested vigorously, but by that point it was too late.
“I was working the whole time,” Homasi complained afterwards. “As soon as I got hit, I felt the hit, I went down and I went for my takedown.”
Hassan agreed to an immediate rematch, which he would again win, this time by first round knockout.
