Claudio Silva vs. Danny Roberts
Danny Roberts received a personal apology from Dana White after a mistake from the referee ended his fight against Claudio Silva prematurely at UFC Fight Night 147.
It had proved to be an exciting fight and was still producing thrills and spills in the third round as Roberts dropped Silva, but was then caught in deep armbar attempt.
Roberts tried slamming Silva and did manage to break free, but t the same time referee Kevin Sataki called an end to the bout, claiming he’d heard a verbal submission.
“‘I was already out of the armbar,” Roberts said backstage. “I might have grunted, it hurt. But I wasn’t done.”
“Kills me when these refs f*** up and steal such a great fight and opportunity from the not just the fighters but the fans,” dana White wrote on twitter. “Danny Roberts, so sorry.”
