Jon Jones vs. Matt Hamill

A young Jon Jones ame up against Matt Hamill at the TUF 10 Finale in late 2009 and slammed the wrestler so hard onto the mat in the first round that he dislocated ‘The Hammer’s’ shoulder.

Nobody realized at the time as Hamill continued to get beaten up from a sustained ground and pound assault at the hands and then elbows of Jones.

Jones looked at Steve Mazzagatti in disbelief that the fight wasn’t being waved off, but went back to work landing more elbows.

With no prior warning, Mazzagatti suddenly stopped the fight, stating that Jones had landed illegal downward 12-6 elbows and deducted a point from him.

Mazzagatti asked Hamill if he could continue and he couldn’t, though it would later emerge this was due to his damaged shoulder, not the elbow strikes.

Mazzagatti’s poor refereeing handed Jones what to this day still stands as the only loss of his 27 fight career, something which a decade later UFC President Dana White is still campaigning to have overturned.
