Cristian Binda

We’ll end this article by going full-circle and returning to the current coronavirus pandemic that has put people all over the world’s lives at risk, including that of 42-year-old retired MMA fighter Cristian Binda.

A bantamweight fighter who is a former Venator FC champion and also fought for the likes of Cage Warriors and Cage Rage during his 11-10 career, Binda hails from Italy, one of the countries most affected by the virus, and it led to him falling badly ill, to the extent that he had to be taken to intensive care.

However, there is a positive ending to his story as in a Facebook update recently he revealed that he was recovering and hoping to leave hospital soon.

“Hi guys, I’d like to calm everyone down a bit since I’m a little better now,” Binda wrote. “Summary: After nine days of high fever and coughing eventually my breath was giving out and I had to give up. [I was] admitted to the S. Anna [hospital] in Como and now moved to Lanzo d’Intelvi. Multiple outbreak pneumonia, obviously the swab is positive for COVID-19. Now I’ll try to get back together and come back stronger than before.”
