Ryan Bader vs. Lyoto Machida

Over the course of his career ex-UFC fighter and current Bellator light-heavyweight and heavyweight champion Ryan Bader hasn’t been one to indulge in too many flashy strikes.

However, he threw caution to the wind in his 2012 UFC encounter with Lyoto Machida after becoming frustrated with his ability to close the distance on the elusive Karate expert.

As such, early in the second round he tried to catch Machida by surprise as he burst forward and launched himself into a superman punch.

‘The Dragon’s’ reactions were razor sharp however, and as Joe Rogan put it in the commentary that night, Ryan Bader ran, “full speed into a telephone pole,” mid-way through executing the move as a short counter right knocked him out cold.
