Toshikatsu Harada vs. Akihito Hara

Some fighters save their flashiest moves for after the fight is already over, such as the time Toshikatsu Harada looked to celebrate a win over Akihito Hara in style with a backflip off the top of the cage at Grachan 4 in Japan in 2010.

There was only one problem – Harada had either forgotten how to do the acrobatic manoeuver, or didn’t know how to do it in the first place.

As such, he went flying backwards through the air with the greatest of ease, but never actually turned, so his spectacular backflip turned into a brutal backflop as he unceremoniously thudded back down to earth.

Harada’s moment of glory then turned into his moment of completely and utter humiliation as he crawled around on the mat on his hands and knees in obvious distress for some time afterwards clutching his now aching back.

In a complete role reversal, Harada’s opponent, who moments earlier had been TKO’d, was now back up on his feet and politely checking on the winner to see if he was ok as he continued to lurch around the cage in agony.
