Andrei Arlovski vs. Fedor Emelianenko
Fedor Emelianenko and Andrei Arlovski fought in the Affliction promotion back in 2009 at a time when they were both still in their prime, with Fedor having remained undefeated for eight years, while Arlovski was on a five-fight winning streak that had included recent KO wins over both Ben Rothwell and Roy Nelson.
Despite Fedor’s fearsome reputation, it was actually Arlovski who got the better of the early exchanges on the feet.
In fact, with a few minutes gone he was really starting to trouble the Russian superstar as he cracked him with a right hand, then soon after landed it again with authority.
Arlovski then created distance with a push kick, and with his confidence rising high he decided to go for something spectacular and launched into a flying knee.
However, despite the pressure, Fedor still had ice running through his veins, and so just as Arlovski left the ground, ‘The Last Emperor’ blasted him with a thunderous overhand right counter that connected so cleanly to ‘Pitbull’s’ jaw that it dropped him out of the sky.
Arlovski fell face first onto the canvas unconscious and the crowd went wild as the fight was hastily waved off, adding another stunning finish to Fedor’s highlight reel.
