Glaucio Elizairio vs. Joaquim Polonia
Glaucio Elizairio didn’t have much luck with his submission attempts against Joaquim Polonia at Shoot 58 in Brazil back in 2015.
Late in the first round Elizairio had attempted an armbar after moving to full mount, but as he fell back he completely lost his grip on Polonia’s arm and harmlessly flopped to the mat on his back.
Undeterred, Elizairio went on the hunt for that elusive armbar submission in the second round, but this time he was looking to pull off something even more more ambitious.
Operating from the clinch, Elizairio suddenly leapt into the air for a rare flying armbar attempt, but again he failed to secure the limb and instead fell headfirst onto the mat, badly dazing himself.
Polonia then seized the moment, raining down ground and pound blows for a brutal knockout finish.
