Brian Ortega
Brian Orega seems to have the world at his feet these days, but he had an incredibly tough upbringing and was living rough on the streets at one time and was involved with gangs.
With that in mind it’s impressive that Ortega actually managed to find time to learn to play the guitar and sing in addition to fighting, although he didn’t go about it in the convential way.
“I stole my first guitar when I was 17,” Ortega admitted on an episode of UFC Embedded after giving an impromptu performance of the classic Ritchie Valens hit, ‘La Bamba.’ “I couldn’t afford it.”
Ortega would eventually get on the straight and narrow and made his mark in the world thanks to MMA, but he’s not getting carried away about his chances of making it as a pop star.
“A fighter becomes successful and they think that they can know how to do everything,” Ortega joked to the camera.
