Singing country love songs seems like an unlikely hobby for a four-fight UFC veteran like Adam Milstead, but he seems it as the perfect way to unwind and take his mind of the stress and strain that comes with being a professional MMA fighter.
“I remember when I first decided to put out something online,” Milstead told bloodyelbow.com. “I did that because prior to one of my fights I could not stop thinking about the fight. I’m going to sit down, relax, and start playing guitar. I started recording and I put out this song and people liked it. Next thing I know I wasn’t thinking about the fight.
“Ever since then it’s been one of those thing; it’s like a fight ritual.”
Milstead has put out several cover versions in which he plays guitar and sings, while he’s also released his own original single, ‘Like I love You.’
