Mike Pantangco vs. Jeremy Rasner
Mike Pantangco was just another amateur fighter trying to battle his way up the ranks in 2014 when he suddenly hit the headlines for an incredible act of kindness in the cage.
Pantangco was easily dominating Jeremy Rasner at a Prison City Fight league event when he started to become concerned that his opponent was taking too much punishment.
As the blows continued to rack up and the referee made no effort to step in and put Rasner out of his misery, Pantangco suddenly decided to take matters into his own hands, kneeling down and tapping out rather than continuing to dish out further punishment.
“We don’t get paid, and I know that the only (way) I’m going to finish the fight is him to go in the hospital or get hurt,” Pantangco later explained on the Inside MMA show.
“I just feel terrible, so I’m just going to give him the win.”
