UFC 151
The UFC put their eggs in one basket for UFC 151, opting to support the blockbuster main event 205lb title fight between Jon Jones and Dan Henderson with an undercooked main card.
That would prove to be a big mistake when Henderson was forced out of the fight on a week’s notice due to an MCL injury.
As luck would have it, Chael Sonnen opted to step in to save the card, but Jones refused to fight him on such short notice, incurring the wrath of Dana White, who branded him as “a sport-killer.”
With there being no other fight on the card worthy of main event status, the entire event had to be scrapped – a first in the history of the UFC.
