UFC 4
Barely a year after their first ever event the promotion were undertaking their fourth event and still building their reputation as a must-see sporting attraction on pay-per-view.
120,000 people would purchase UFC 4: Revenge Of The Warriors, but many of them wouldn’t get to see the conclusion of the final between Royce Gracie and Dan Severn as the pay-per-view broadcast had overran it’s two-hour time slot, leading to several providers abruptly cutting off the action before Gracie’s submission finish.
This was a disaster for the UFC’s owners at the time as fans were furious and demanded their money back, costing them millions of dollars.
