Jason Thacker
It’s something of a freak occurence that Jason Thacker ever got anywhere near being a UFC Fighter.
He didn’t have any MMA fight experience prior to applying for the show and his video application for TUF showed him working out by himself with homemade equipment in a barn in the middle of nowhere in Canada.
The producers of the show loved his ‘everyman’ appeal, but in essence they were throwing an out-of-his-depth amateur to the wolves.
in the TUF house his timid, oddball persona and unathletic appearance stood out like a sore thumb and he’d be picked last during team selection and was nicknamed ‘Strangebrew’ by Chris Leben, who even went as far as to urinate on his pillow.
Needless to say the rest of Thacker’s time on the show didn’t go well and he was quickly eliminated and sent home after failing a coaches challenge.
However, Thacker was then given a fight at the TUF 1 finale against his nemesis on the show, Leben, which went as badly as you would expect, being TKO’d just 95 seconds into the fight. Thacker then retreated back to the Canadian wilderness and never fought again.
