Henry Cejudo vs. TJ Dillashaw
There was a lot on the line when bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw dropped down to flyweight for a superfight against fellow titleholder Henry Cejudo earlier this year and so it was shocking to see it end fter just 32 seconds.
Cejudo stunned Dillashaw early with a right hand that dropped him, but under fire from follow-up punches he returned to his feet looking for a single leg, only to be struck with another punch that put him back down.
Dillashaw again looked to scramble for a single leg, but referee Kevin MacDonald had already decided to wave off the fight, resulting in a furious protest from Dillashaw.
“It’s a champ vs champ fight, and you’re going to stop the fight like that? I’m in on a single leg!” Dillashaw fumed backstage afterwards.
Nevertheless, in hindsight it was just that Cejudo won as Dillashaw would test positive for EPO afterwards, leading to a two-year ban.
