Don’t Dance In A Title Fight

It was 2013’s most shocking moment when the entire world witnessed Chris Weidman defeat Anderson Silva for the UFC middleweight title.

Weidman knocked out a clowning Silva with a left hook and follow-up ground strikes. Bringing the match to a shocking and decisive close 78 seconds into round two.

Silva toyed with Weidman in a scene that has sadly grown familiar to his followers.

However, his taunting caught up to him early in the second round as Weidman floored and finished him at the feet of referee Herb Dean.

It serves as the shining example that the Octagon is no place for games. Taunting and showboating occasionally makes for a great show. But Silva went overboard and got one-twoed by Weidman. Silva’s soul left his body before he hit the mat.

  1. Dan Henderson’s KO of Bisping is still my favorite moment of all time. Especially with the extra shot to shut him up after the fact. Karmic!
