Without a doubt the UFC 139 savage on savage violence between Dan Henderson and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua will go down as one of the greatest MMA bouts of all time. The back-and-forth war is something no MMA fan can go without seeing at least a few times. Hendo would earn the unanimous decision victory.
Unfortunately it appeared as though the fight was the beginning of the end for Henderson’s career, as he would lose his next 3 fights. The rematch took place 28 months later in Brazil, and it looked like Shogun was going to finish Hendo this time, but Hendo would battle back to finish Rua in the 3rd round.
