6. Yoel Romero
the “Solidier of God” Yoel Romero is a hilarious fighter to follow. Romero is an absolutely jacked former Cuban olympic wrestler, and arguably could receive a UFC middleweight title shot in the near future.
But people HATE Yoel Romero.
The source of this hatred is mainly due to his being nearly 40 and looking like he’s a Cuban Brock Lesnar. Something doesn’t pass the smell test there. Low and behold Romero flunked a drug test earlier this year stemming from his victory over Jacare Souza.
What was looking like a 2 year suspension was reduced to 6 months however, after he was able to successfully provide the tainted supplement he claims caused his test failure.
Tim Kennedy and others aren’t too fond of Romero for his role in “Stool Gate”, when Romero took a few extra moments on the stool in his UFC 178 fight against Tim Kennedy. After almost being finished the previous round, Romero came back to finish Kennedy in the 3rd round after receiving the extra stool time, something it is doubtful Kennedy remembers fondly.
