4. Rousimar Palhares
Nobody in mixed martial arts has received more complaints about being a dirty fighter than Rousimar Palhares.
Not just in MMA bouts, but also in grappling and submission tournaments, there have been numerous incidents involving Palhares not letting go of his submission hold after his opponent has tapped. This is what led to him being cut from the UFC following a submission victory over Mike Pierce at a UFC Fight Night event in October of 2013.
Palhares didn’t do himself any favours in his next fight either, when he took on Jake Shields at WSOF 22. Palhares won the fight by kimura, but once again failed to release the submission after the fight was stopped. World Series of Fighting stripped him of the their welterweight championship (which he won in the fight) and cut him from the organization.
