2. Not allowing Randy Couture to corner his son
In 2013, Ryan Couture, the son of UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture, was scheduled to make his UFC debut. Ryan was coming off of a successful run in Strikeforce, that saw him go out having won his last 4 fights, including a split-decision win over K.J Noons.
The problem is that Randy Couture had just signed a deal with Spike TV and Bellator, which bothered White and the UFC. White made it clear that the elder Couture was not allowed at UFC events, not even to corner his son.
Without his father in his corner, Ryan Couture lost 2 straight fights in the UFC and was released. He won his first 2 fights in Bellator, but then lost his latest fight back in January.
