Cung Le vs. Wanderlei Silva

Cung Le vs. Wanderlei Silva in the co-main event of UFC 139 in 2011 was a stand-up war, and in the early going it was Le who was coming out on top as he rocked the Brazilian brawler with a spinning backfist and spinning wheel kick.

However, as time progressed Le began to slow down and ‘The Axe-Murderer’ took full advantage as he started to hunt him down with power punches and eventually dropped him late in the round.

Back on his feet Le was then hammered by a big elbow, before a bone-crunching knee to the face from the muay thai clinch broke his nose and took the fight out of him as he fell to the mat and the fight was waved off.

“My nose was done, but I wasn’t done,” Le claimed later, despite admitting he had been rocked by the blow, which led to him having to undergo surgery.
