Ronda Rousey
Wen she was just eight-years-old, Ronda Rousey’s father commited suicide, following the same path as his father before him.
That stuck with ‘Rowdy,’ and though she became a bonafide UFC superstar, when she finally tasted defeat with a knockout loss to Holly Holm, she’s admitted that she had suicidal thoughts herself.
“I was sitting in the corner [thinking[ like, ‘What am I anymore if I’m not this?’” Rousey said on the Ellen show. “And I was literally sitting there and thinking about killing myself and that exact second, I’m [thinking] ‘I’m nothing … what do I do anymore and no one gives a sh*t about me anymore without this.’”
Rousey was able to rise back out of that depression with the help of her family and after leaving the UFC following another loss became a big star in WWE pro-wrestling.
