Megan Anderson

Megan Anderson has spoken of attempting to take her own life after struggling to cope with depression due to the long-drawn out process of leaving the Australian army back in 2010

“I was at a point where I was just so scared to do anything, so mentally broken I didn’t know what else I could do,” Anderson told Ariel Helwani.

Anderson was hospitalized and eventually discharged from the army, which eventually led to MMA giving her, ” a reason to get out of bed.”

Last year Anderson experienced “crippling anxiety” leading up to a UFC fight with Felicia Spencer, leading to a panic attack on the morning of her fight, which she’d go on to lose the fight by first round submission.

Anderson took time out, sought psychological help and has since returned to the Octagon and emerged victorious.
