Chris Barnett vs. Hyun Man Myung
The 5ft 9″, 300lb Chris ‘Huggy Bear’ Barnett’s career almost ended prematurely back in 2013 when he was forced out of an MFC title shot after doctor’s discovered that he was suffering from a torn retina in three places.
Barnett hadn’t even realized he had the injury, but he was eventually able to undergo surgery and continue his career, only to then have more eye troubles at ROAD FC 38 in 2017 when he went up against Hyun Man Myung.
In an early exchange, a powerful overhand right from Myung brutalized Barnett’s left eye, leaving it swollen shut, while blood leaked out like something out of a horror movie.
Barnett continued to fight on regardless until the referee eventually waved off the fight on te advice of the cageside doctor.
Barnett underwent surgery and made a full recovery, but was KO’d by Myung in their rematch after that.
