John Makdessi vs. Kyle Watson
Over 55,000 fans packed into the Rogers Centre in Toronto for UFC 129, and only two fights into the preliminary card they were treated to an amazing finish from John Makdessi against Kyle Watson.
In the third round, Makdessi faked a leg kick attempt, then quickly transitioned into a spinning backfist that landed flush to Watson’s face for a picture-perfect highlights reel KO.
The blow was as brutal as it was beautiful to watch and Watson would remain out cold for a troublingly long time after the fight was over.
Watson was released from the UFC after that loss, lost one more fight the following year by TKO and then retired.
