Rashad Evans vs. Sean Salmon
Riding a four-fight winning streak, a young Rashad Evans quite literally made a huge impact when he went up against Sean Salmon in 2007.
Early in the second round, Evans spotted Salmon’s hands down low and threw a powerful head kick that landed right across his jaw for an instant KO, though to make matters worse it sent him flying backwards until his head smacked off the mat, only to then be greeted by another punch.
“Out cold was Sean Salmon, he’s still stiff!” Randy Couture on color-commentary duties noted as Evans celebrated, while Joe Rogan pointing out that, “his toes are still curled up right now, right in front of us!”
The cameras steered clear of showing Salmon after that, though it was noted during Evans post-fight interview that he was still out, and he reportedly spent an alarming seven minutes unconscious before being stretchered out of the arena to hospital.
