Valentina Shevchenko vs. Jessica Eye
Violent knockouts are more commonplace in men’s MMA than women’s, but Valentina Shevchenko’s recent finish of Jessica Eye at UFC 238 immediately went down as one of the most devastating in UFC history.
Shevchenko caught her opponent off-guard with a perfect head kick that connected with both the shin to the face and foot to the temple, sending Eye falling backwards and hitting her head off the canvas, completely out cold.
Even veteran color commentator Joe Rogan struggled to hide his distress immediately afterwards, stating, “Oh my god, that’s terrible, that’s a terrible head kick.”
Rogan continued to voiced concerns that Eye was still out, stating, “That was a bad one, you can see her legs twitch. She’s still unconscious.”
Thankfully, after a few minutes Eye did wake up, sporting a lump on her temple, and was able to make her own way backstage, sobbing uncontrollably.
