Francis Ngannou vs. Alistair Overeem
13 of Alistair Overeem’s 17 career losses have come by way of T(KO), but the one he suffered against Francis Ngannou in 2017 will go down as the most violent.
Like Overeem, Ngannou was an imposing physical specimen with renowned knockout power, and less than two minutes into the fight he gave a frightening demonstration of just how hard he could hit when he connected with a hellacious uppercut that almost took Overeem’s head off his shoulders, leaving him stretched out unconscious on the mat, followed by another wholly unneccessary blow afterwards.
“Alistair overeem is still out cold,” Joe Rogan observered a minute later. “His toes are curled. He’s locked up right now like he just got electrocuted!”
Despite this late career KO and history of head trauma, Overeem continues to compete to this day.
