Wanderlei Silva vs. Keith Jardine
In Wanderlei Silva’s second fight back in the UFC following a reign of terror in PRIDE, he lived up to his fearsome reputation by producing what would go down as 2008’s ‘Knockout Of The Year,’ at Keith Jardine’s expense.
Early in the fight Silva clocked Jardine with a right-left combo that put him down on one knee for a moment, then after getting back up a left hook put him flat on his back.
Silva would then pin Jardine to the mat with one hand on his neck and then blasted him with the other until he went out cold, as stiff as a board.
It would be four minutes later before ‘The Dean Of Mine’ finally reawakened and was taken to hospital for observation.
Jardine had won five of his previous seven fights in the UFC, but soon after this would lose four in a row and be released from the promotion.
