Edson Barboza vs. Terry Etim
Terry Etim had a 15-3 record when he went up against Edson Barboza at UFC 142 in 2012, but he’ll always be most remembered for falling victim to one of the most spectacular finishes in the promotion’s history.
Mid-way through the third round, Barboza uncorked a spinning wheel kick that whiplashed his foot into Etim’s face, felling him like a tree.
Etim, who lay rigid on the mat for minutes afterwards, likely has no memory of that fateful moment, but five years later Barboza admitted his ‘Knockout Of The Year’ was still fresh in his mind, recalling that, “He was almost dead.”
Etim would be released from the UFC after losing his next fight and after one more bout vanished from MMA completely.
In 2017 he hit the headlines in his native Liverpool after he reportedly jumped out of a moving car and then repeatedly threw himself at oncoming traffic, before finally being restrained.
