Counter Spinning Backfist
Spinning backfists appear from time-to-time in UFC fights, although it is a lot rarer to actually see someone find a finish with them.
Nonetheless, they perhaps wouldn’t be rare enough to be included in this article if it wasn’t for the desire to highlight one particularly spectacular ‘lightning-in-a-bottle’ moment from when Steven Peterson fought Martin Bravo at UFC Fight Night 159.
What made this one so unique was that it was essentially a counter spinning backfist after Bravo himself had attempted one of his own, but failed to connect, leading Peterson to instantly firing back with one of his own to knock him out cold, making for a picture-perfect addition to his highlight reel.
