Josh Emmett vs. Jeremy Stephens
Josh Emmett suffered a controversial KO loss to Jeremy Stephens in the UFC last year that left him with potentially career-threatening injuries.
In the second round of the fight, Stephens dropped Emmett with a hook, but then landed a couple of elbows to the back of his head and also grazed Emmett with an equally illegal knee strike.
Stephens was still declared the winner despite the illegal blows, and to make matters worse for Emmett he was then diagnosed with a factured lateral orbital, orbital wall and nasal bone, not to mention several other facial fractures that were impinging on his main eye muscle.
The damage could easily have punctured his eye or popped it out of it’s socket, but thankfully he made a full recovery and after over a year out returned to the UFC with a KO victory.
